Collecting player autographs may be hard to pull off. The popularity of the players was even greater that it is as if they are the most respected stars in the world (well, they are). But if you really believe it is THAT hard, one person may change your way of thinking- and that is Erik Fields Sr.
Erik is an avid fan of the NBA team and was really looking forward to having a close meet with any of them. Like many other fans, Erik wanted to take pictures with NBA players; he wanted to have some sort of remembrance from his idols and he thought of having autographed items. The first time he ever had anything autographed was when he bumped into these basketball superstars — Troy Murphy and Jarrett Jack.
After so many years of having a hard time getting autographs, Erik still pursued what he started. News flashed that Indiana Pacers, who happened to be his favorite team in the NBA, will be having their annual Fan Jam. So Erik decided to go and see for himself. He describes the players as really friendly and easy to get along with. Erik got autographs from the players like Brandon Rush, A.J. Price, Solomon Jones, Roy Hibbert, T.J. Ford and the rest of the team.
Like Erik, you can also meet and greet your favorite basketball team and players. If you’re a devoted fan, and you really want to have their signatures, try to look up their activities. Basketball players usually have a Fan Day. Upcoming events, gigs and other stuff will be announced during this day so better get ready!
You can also attend autograph signing events in hotels where your favorite basketball stars reside. These team hotels are open to the public for “intense” interaction, picture- taking and collecting player autographs. This is the perfect time to meet the players as these are their resting area.
According to Erik, it may sound silly but you can even get autographs before, during and after their game. In the area where a basketball game is held, you’ll have the chance to get an autograph of other basketball stars who come to watch the event. After the game, there will be autograph signing sessions as well.
You can also have autographs of your favorite basketball stars during their other events. It may be for a promotional event or for their endorsements. A lot of basketball stars today have their own signature items like shirts, balls and other things most likely to be deemed memorabilia.
Along other reasons for admiring your favorite players, Erik shared his experience as like having a dream come true. He finished his autograph signing with other basketballs stars like Jeff Foster, Dahntay Jones, Travis Diener and Earl Watson. It was very challenging for him but at the same time, it was as fun and as easy as what you hope it would be.
Collecting player autographs is the way to go if you are an avid fan and you want the most popular and authentic memorabilia. For a big fan, these gives great pleasure.
